Followed the steps which worked like a charm for me on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64-bit on March 14, 2012 except that I searched for 'curses' and reinstalled everything that was already installed containing the sub-string 'curses'.

Thank you very much for the help.

Hehe - thanks for that. No, no Scrumpy Jack or similar was involved. :)

If I could replicate it at will I could have a lot of fun with this. ;)

Interesting. Should it come form someone else, I would blame it on human error.

I think that the expansion of air at the bottom of the bowl is a most likely explanation. Especially if the table was a bit wet and capillary forces filled the space between the table and the bowl with water creating a 'seal'. Perceived tendency for keeping the same direction may be due to a small dent on the bottom of the bowl causing that place to be slightly more likely to 'give in'. I have seen that happening often when I prepare tea although it was never strong enough to move the cup. Just bubble coming out...

I assume that "Scrumpy Jack" was not involved ;-)

Hi Ian
I have corrected my Conkyrc file according to your instructions for the Calender and it works fine. Your photos reminded me of when I lived in Kent England 40 years ago. I too was born in the East End of London and support West Ham United who had a great player Tony Cottee. I now live in a rural town in New Zealand.

Thank you

Under Windows Vista x64, I had to make certain to hunt down and kill every Cygwin process, rebase all, and then reinstall every libncurses-related library. This worked for me.

Thank you for the help.

Well, I tried this but deviated slightly: Since libncurses*7* was not already installed, I didn't install. Instead, I just reinstalled the curses libraries that were installed.

THIS DID NOT WORK.
Libncurses7 is apparently magic here.

Anyway, life is good now. Thanks for the help.
